Is CBD Oil Legal? All you need to know:
While the use, manufacture and distribution of cannabis is illegal in the UK, CBD is legal. As long as it complies with current regulations, CBD can be manufactured and sold in the UK.
One main reason CBD is legal is because it doesn’t contain THC. THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid that causes you to get high after using cannabis. As well as numerous other cannabinoids, THC is strictly controlled in the UK via the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and the Misuse of Drug Regulations Act 2001.
CBD is not listed as a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act. As long as a CBD product is produced using an EU approved strain of Hemp Plant, it’s legal for you to purchase and use in the UK.
Any CBD oil sold in the UK must have a THC content of 0.2% or less, which all of our products do.
Some forms of cannabis oil may contain above 0.2% THC, but these oils cannot be legally manufactured or sold in the UK. All our products are rigorously tested to ensure the THC levels are within the legal 0.2% limit.
Therefore, as long as a CBD oil product is between 0%-0.2%, it is legal in the UK. For more information on the benefits of CBD, check out our Benefits page to find out why CBD has gained so much popularity in recent health studies.
